Dietrich Bonhoeffer once wrote “Seek God, not happiness - this is the fundamental rule of all meditation. If you seek God alone, you will gain happiness: that is its promise.” The more we seek God, the more we immerse ourselves in His Word, the more the words of the Psalmist "my soul thirsteth after thee" will be fulfilled in our hearts. And it will truly be as it is written in Psalms chapter one, "Blessed (or happy) is the man... (whose) delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
